The issues raised are not limited to psychology, some of them apply to all fields of science to some extent, and many of them especially so to all social sciences in general. And one should not forget that your average scientific result (or claimed result) that manages to break into popular consciousness and makes it into newspapers and other media quite likely touches social sciences. People are more interested about people than quarks or computability theory. My point being: this is important.
